This really is a great brush. I have curly/kinky dry static prone hair .

This really is a great brush. I have curly/kinky dry static prone hair (the worst hair ever). I use hair oil to tame my hair and make it brushable, but I don't have to use it with this brush. It's no static and smooths my hair pretty well. I found that if you heat the ceramic up a second before you start blowing out your hair it helps the brush do it's majic. I also use the warm (not hot) temperature setting on my blow dryer(which helps minimize frizz). With respect to the measurement, the ceramic barrel is 2 inches, the bristles stick out of the barrel about half inch on "each side"( it's round so it's hard to explain ). Point being, if your hair is shorter than 3 inches I'd get a smaller brush. The handle is a rubberish material which is nice because it doesn't slip out of my hand when I'm really pulling the curl out of my difficult hair.

Pros
  • Enhances hair volume and texture
Cons
  • The brush may not be suitable for short hair
