So far so good with this WiFi -Power outlet. You download the Bestek app, then connect it to Wi-Fi and then connect to Alexa when you want to use it. tTo connect to Alexa, turn on the Bestek skill and then search for a new device. It finds the output and you can rename each output to control it individually. You can also manage it like a whole device. Pairing with Alexa was quicker and easier than setting up the original app. When you download the app, you will not be prompted for permissions. The first few attempts to connect to my wifi, I got a popup asking me to allow location permission for the app. I would have clicked OK and then assumed it was enabled like any other app, but it wasn't, so it didn't connect. Finally I went to Settings>Apps>bestekhome>Permissions and allowed location. You can also enable other permissions, but I didn't do it because I don't think they're needed. The outlet doesn't have to use my microphone or camera etc. So I have a TV, a play tower and a main speaker on this Wi-Fi outlet. My slave speaker is plugged into an outlet in the wall. the master controls them both, so everything is fine. I can tell Alexa to turn on the TV, turn off the tower, turn on the speaker, etc., or I can tell Alexa to turn the outlet on or off and it will turn everything on or off. The device itself is small and fine. I really like that it has a little base that it can snap into or you can use it without the base. You can install it or just place it where you want. The cable is thick and appears to be very durable. All this is pleasantly noticeable in terms of build quality. It doesn't feel cheap or generic etc. It appears to be a well made device and has worked perfectly so far.
