Review on 📸 IOGEAR GFR204SD Green Card Reader/Writer: Enhance data transfer with SD/MicroSD/MMC compatibility by Andrew Walton

When the built-in SD reader in my MacBook Pro stopped working after less than two years, I was surprised to see how cheaply I could replace it with an external USB version . It was an easy decision for me to spend five minutes surfing the internet and then $7 to have it delivered to my door instead of paying on time and getting annoyed trying to fix the internal. This IOGEAR card reader is exactly what I need. Works and very easy. No complicated instructions; You simply insert the SD card into the reader and plug the reader into the USB port. The speed seems to be on par with my old internal one, although I didn't take any formal measurements. Either way, it's much faster than transferring photos through the camera, and I'd rather carry around a small, sturdy USB device than an awkwardly shaped camera cable. Basically I am very satisfied with this purchase. The only thing that remains to be seen is how long the reader will last, but as someone from IOGEAR customer service took the time to respond to some of the 1-star reviews on this site and offer help, I can't say am very worried. I'm just glad that I can now transfer photos to my computer.
