Does not fit in the compartment

The replacement filter did not fit in the compartment. I think the filter is just too tall to fit in. I cut off the ends of the two "fins" on the back of the filter, thinking this would "lower" it to fit. No, I could not close the filter compartment. You must order the genuine Kenmore brand to find one that "fits".
