I bought this printer for my 12 year old son to broaden his horizons beyond video games (not that video games are wrong). He took it like a moth on a flame. This is our first 3D printing experience. I've seen horror stories about printers. This printer was pretty painless. I made the decision to name Dremel and realized that this is not a company that will go bankrupt tomorrow. I haven't been disappointed yet. The first print we did was made directly from the included SD card. We made an offset vase. It turned out great, but I expected this from an embedded file. There are many community websites with projects and this is what interested us the most. . We loaded it into the Dremel software and placed it on the SD card. No problem. The software cut the file and added support and everything needed to make the project a reality. My son couldn't be happier. He showed it to all his school friends. For those unfamiliar with 3D printing, removing the supports can sometimes be difficult. Some sanding is required at the end. And not just for this block, but for all of them. We've had a few crashes from this site, but I don't blame the printer. Expect a wide range of quality when downloading from a community site. That doesn't mean we didn't have issues, but I have a feeling it has more to do with user error and the quality of the file. All in all, I can absolutely recommend this for a first-time printer. We have about 12 successful projects and only 2 failed. While the included instructions don't really cover the software, there are some very good videos on YouTube. Dremel did a good job with this. I'm still waiting for the big headache I read about, but up until this point we've been happy campers.
