Review on πŸ–₯️ Black Lenovo Ideatab A1000 7-Inch Tablet with 8GB Storage by Brett Islam

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Inexpensive, memory issues, but reasonably priced

Purchased through Revain Warehouse Deals. The unit appears to have been opened but otherwise as new as stated on the website. I was looking for an electronic notepad handwriting solution for work and the need to retype notes. Using handwriting apps on my phone is far from ideal. I hope this will be a great solution on a 7 inch tablet. The tablet looks and works the same as my Android phone but has a few small differences and not all apps available on my phone can be installed on my tablet but most of them want to have 8GB of memory , an important point that I missed in the specifications and that I only appreciated when I started installing applications, is that only 500 MB is available from the program memory box. Downloading the OTA (Over the Air) update increased the internal storage to 1.5GB. The first attempt to download the OTA update took many hours and restarted multiple times, and when it finally downloaded it worked not and I had to start over . I suggest if it takes longer than 30 minutes to cancel, restart the tablet and try again. The second attempt started in less than 30 minutes and did a successful memory repartition. My Android phone has all 16 GB of internal storage. available for apps, OS and storage so it's unique to me and maybe this tablet. Hopefully a future update will unlock and reallocate all memory for apps and storage. Now it is divided into internal storage and "USB storage". The latter is an odd use of terminology, as that storage doesn't come from an external USB connection. However, it is essentially RAM and flash storage. Some applications can be moved to USB/Flash memory, freeing up the required storage space, but this is not possible for all applications. I hope that one day app makers will allow this option (switch to "external storage") for any apps or data caches that are not critical to device operation. Now I'm looking for a capacitive stylus with a fine tip. The typical tools you find online are rubber-tipped blunt tools. All in all this might be just what I need and for the price I really can't complain. Spending hundreds more was an alternative to overcome this tablet's shortcomings. The guide is only available as an online manual in HTML format, but with MS Internet Explorer and Word you can bypass this and create your own.
