I used the Phonex NeverWire system for 8 years to connect a laser printer two floors down from my office computer. You can't use a surge protector with them because the surge protector interferes with the signal and not every plug will work. Most cabinets have an A side and a B side, and without a phase shifter, both outputs must be on the same side of the cabinet. So some outlets in my office didn't work to plug them in, but others did. However, once I found a working pair of outlets, the connection was pretty smooth. A few times I had to reset the connection between the two blocks due to long power outages, but there were no complaints about the blocks. I'm thinking of getting another one (you could have up to 16) to provide a direct ethernet connection to the computer controlling my internet TV. My WiFi connection was intermittently interrupted.
