this adapter works fine, I tested it with my Samsung S8, if you only connect HDMI to the adapter and then to the phone, you can mirror your phone's screen, but if you add power, your phone will change mode Regarding Samsung dex, I connected an extra keyboard to the adapter and it worked fantastic, I tested a Logitech wireless mouse but I experienced some lag, not sure if it was caused by the adapter or the mouse antenna , maybe with a Bluetooth mouse it should work with any lag, from my point of view it's a great option compared to Dex Pad or Dex Station, you pay a fraction and get the same results.
