Windows 8.1 without any problems found and installed the minimum required drivers for the whistle, and I was immediately able to connect to an existing wireless network. Utility for network management - too. None of this worked under Win 8.1, only the whistle itself worked and caught the signal (but it was Windows itself that "configured" everything). An attempt to build a network through Connectify was unsuccessful - our phones, although they saw the created network, but did not connect to it. They just silently dropped the connection for an unknown reason. What to do? We go to the official TP-Link website, switch the site language to English (I chose the UK on the map), find our adapter and see that the driver and utility are of 2022, while on the 2022 site - 2022. Moreover, in 2022 version added Win8 support. Download, install, and everything works. The access point is created by a native utility (only downloaded from the English version of the site), it catches 4-5 meters (we don’t need more yet, and the size of the whistle . you shouldn’t expect revelations). A couple of brick walls of our office passes, but the signal level drops to 1 stick. But it works, the speed is acceptable. As a result, I am satisfied with the purchase. The only disappointment is that the utility does not work out of the box. Download the utility from the English version of the site and rejoice. I put 5 points, because nevertheless, with the hardware, the device fully meets my expectations. I could have dropped one point for the old utility that came with the kit, but I decided not to.
