The glass holder is great. It's convenient because it's easy to move from place to place. It will easily hold a 30 ounce stainless steel thermos filled to capacity. However, in a large vehicle like a school bus, combined with bad roads, it can lose traction. I solved the problem with an extra heavy duty magnet that attaches to the side of the cup holder magnet and holds. However, the flat steel surface should be wide enough to securely accommodate both parts, with no curved corners or areas where the magnet will sit without the steel surface behind it.
