Review on ๐ŸŒช๏ธ Oneida Molded Dust Deputy Cyclone: Maximum Particle Separation and Dust Collection Efficiency by James Vilchez

Works great but requires adapter to connect to standard dust hose

I hate cleaning vacuum cleaner filters. But what I really hated was how quickly they clogged and lost suction as a result. However, I have replaced the filters on two of our large vacuum cleaners with actually washable ones. who wanna do it And a small shop vacuum cleaner uses bags. Pooh. And expensive, about $5 a pack. I had to find a better way. Enter the dust substitute. What I like: 1. First, it really works! In the photo, I carefully cleaned the vacuum cleaner and its filter. I then proceeded to use it with a dust substitute to pick up a lot of the sawdust that had recently come off the miter saw. If you look closely at the photo, you can see the amount of sawdust in the bucket. When I opened the vacuum cleaner it was fine. Nothing, I mean nothing slipped out of the bucket. 2. Oneida provides everything you need for blade assembly: 1/4-20 3/4" bolts, 1/4-20 locknuts and gasket. What I didn't like: 1. The holes on the dust collector don't match typical ones Dust collection fittings. I had to purchase adapters to go from vacuum to vacuum to tool. Although you can install these adapters without a heat gun, it will be difficult. I used a 2 1/2" dust hose. 2. Mounted on the lid of a bucket, it's quite flimsy. I reinforced the lid with 3/8" plywood. Of course, this meant I had to use 1 1/4" screws, so the screws Oneida provided went into stock. Bottom Line: The Oneida Dust Vice works really well, but you'll need to buy adapters to connect it to your hardware. what I find stinks. In my opinion there is no reason why Oneida cannot manufacture a product that fits the typical sizes of fittings and dust collection hoses.
