Review on Westinghouse Lighting 7209600 Carolina Alabaster by Albina Bloom

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Quiet fan, bright lights; easy wiring; Microscopic Screws

We have replaced an existing 13 year old Monte Carlo fan. The wiring and spacers were already in place (this box does not include an overhead cable box or spacers). Wiring was easy and the instructions are easy to follow. Match color to color as directed and you will be fine. We have a wall switch and we are going to use pull chains. I used the "wall switch" wiring instructions. At first I had a bit of an issue when either the fan or the light was working but not both at the same time. It was as if the wall turned on a fan when the lights went out; and turning off the fan turned on the light. I fixed it very easily by simply connecting a wire to the wall switch. The included 800 lumen bulbs are quite bright. There doesn't seem to be much room for bulbs, you need regular sized bulbs and I'm not sure what other bulb would easily fit. I would definitely recommend connecting ALL the wires and mounting everything to the ceiling minimally, then turning on the power to make sure the light is working and the fan motor is spinning BEFORE completing the installation. There are some very, very small screws that need to be screwed in 1mm from the ceiling to attach the decorative ceiling cover. assembly and engine. I recommend placing a light-colored painting mat on the floor under a fan while you work so you can easily find what you inevitably drop. At first I didn't and had to vacuum and then use it to find the fallen bolts and locknuts.
