I have had this level for about 1 month. It has never been dropped or bumped into. It looks great, I don't see any signs of an explosion etc. But it's gone. The first thing I did when I left was to check that it was level. Old flip test, test, test until you know it's perfect. Today I was aligning a multi piece ledger board and felt something was wrong, my eye said the boards were falling off. So I went back, flipped the level in a few places, and you know what? One direction is now read differently than the other. Upon closer inspection, it looks like the central plastic box with the central bubble in the middle has shifted slightly. It was hot and maybe metal and plastic expand at different rates, maybe they used some kind of glue that didn't work. I really don't know, but I do know my $60 level is just a ruler now. Be clear, I took great care of this level, it never left my property, nobody touched it. I could buy 3 or more cheap ones and get a much better price. I don't understand why the $60 level can't be adjusted. Just a few screws would allow me to fix it. I hate buying another level with a brand new one. I thought I was buying a quality product and felt cheated.
