I have been using a competition ball for two months (four piece ball, won 3 dozen of them in tournament and was fitted by my trainer and company rep). when I can hold on to the green more. Unfortunately, these balls cost over $50 a dozen, so you'll feel a bit of a pain if one gets damaged or lost. I decided to try them on the recommendation of one of my golf partners and I was not disappointed. I just bought 3 dozen more. For a two-piece ball they're pretty good and I get very good distance with very reasonable grip on the greens because the dimple pattern on these balls is very similar to the more expensive golf balls I've used. Highly recommended.
