Review on Sellstrom S97453 Shield Emergency Blanket by Andrew Burnside

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Ok but could use some improvements.

I like it. I have another one made from fiberglass which I feel is heavier and feels better at putting out flames. I was surprised that this bag doesn't have grommets for hanging (for drying) and that the bag doesn't have grommets for hanging on the wall (like a fiberglass bag). I doubt the assessment in which to place this fire blanket as the edges were cut unevenly and it turned out as if they were hand cut and the edges are unfinished (there is no seam on the edges like fiberglass) ). If you're looking for a fire blanket, I recommend Sellstrom as the company you buy your blanket from, but I don't know if you should buy this blanket or not. The duvet itself is about 1/8 inch thick, soft and cozy; There are some improvements that could be made (hence my 3 star rating). Also, it would be nice if the duvet itself had a pull handle so you can pull the handle and pull the duvet out of your pocket. The bag is made of a thinner material, it would be better if it was a bit thicker, at least in the upper part where the hole is, as I'm afraid of tearing the bag when I pull out the cover to check. In future please provide temperature range and cleaning instructions. Overall, this isn't a bad blanket, but it could be improved to make it amazing; Sellstrom is a great fire blanket brand, but it could use some improvements, that's all. Many Thanks.
