Review on 📹 Sony DCRPC110 Digital HandyCam Camcorder with Integrated Digital Still Mode (No Longer in Production) by Jeff Payne

I like this camera. The hard earned money I bought it with was very well spent. During a week of painstaking research, I came across this DV camcorder. I've set my budget at $700 and of course the PC110 is slightly above that price. I felt like I needed a camera that would last and deliver great image quality, so I gave it my all and hoped for the best. What I got was better than I expected. The video quality is excellent. The LCD display is bright and clear. The device is very compact and well designed, as I have come to expect from Sony. Using device controls and a FireWire card, I can import, edit, view, and save video back to tape in the camera. Bags are fun, and be aware if you're going for this, it's a big investment of time and a steep learning curve. As a digital camera it doesn't fit into a good model for professionals, but I find it useful to include still images in a video. where the picture was taken around the same time as the video. With a 10x optical zoom and a good lens, this camera is great for close-ups. It has a pretty decent flash and the big battery will let you take lots and lots of photos. USB performance is high. After a month of use, I would highly recommend the PC110 to hobbyist videographers. PROS: Its best features are its incredibly compact form factor, awesome lens, jog dial menu controls, and all the controls you can use. I will (gadget lovers rejoice). I think you can connect up to eight different cables to it at once. The included battery ("Smart Lithium" rechargeable) is acceptable, but an extra would be welcome. CONS: I received a 4MB memory card with the camera. This gives you room for 3 15 second MPEG videos or 6-8 photos. It's actually a waste of time - I confided that to my Clié. You need at least one 32MB flash drive, preferably several. The camera makes video clips in MPEG format, which are cool but only allow 15 seconds at maximum quality. There was no case with the camera either. Once you see the quality you get with DV, I bet you'll never go back to analog.
