When I first received them, I was tempted to send them back immediately. They seemed too thin to offer compression but thought I'd give it a try. I had an ankle swelling and my doctor recommended compression stockings. I think as you get older. If 54 is old age, it can happen from time to time. Sigh. I should also note that I have plain old whites. No flowers here lol, just boring white. I was very surprised when they worked just as well as before. I wouldn't say the compression is 15-20. My sister is a nurse and she gave me a pair of 15-20's while waiting for shipping. These socks feel more like a 10. So if you have terrible swelling I don't think these socks will suit you. They seem to wear very well and wash well. I'm really surprised by their quality. I wasn't expecting this when I first took it out of the box. I usually wear cotton or cotton blend socks. Since these are nylon socks, I was worried my feet would sweat and not absorb moisture. As with all socks. Not only in these. I always powder in my socks. I was very surprised, happy and impressed to see that my feet didn't sweat at all. BIG benefits. The size chart is a bit shaky IMHO. I wear women's shoes 11. But I rarely wear women's shoes. I prefer men's shoes. I think they are better made and wear better. I never wear dress shoes or sandals. I'm a girl in work boots and sneakers. And in men's shoes I wear 9. That's the norm. Women's shoes are 2 sizes larger than men's shoes. I have neither narrow nor wide feet. Just an average foot. IF you follow the size chart listed there. Size Chart - S/M (Men 5-9 Years, Women: 5-10), L/XL (Men 10-13 Years, Women 11-15.5<<<----and I copied this directly from their pages It is confusing because women 11 is men 9 so i was thinking what size to order i thought i ordered L/XL but when they arrived they were S/M first i thought shit they were too will be small but honestly they fit perfectly If you are a normal woman in size 11 I would definitely recommend you to order s/m because if you order l/xl it will be terrible for you and the sizing chart is a bit shaky I would definitely order them again and wish they would offer a scoop length option as I don't really need knee socks I refuse to wear them in shorts in public because I don't look become like an idiot.i have.poor work standards alno it would be easier if i didn't down all that stuff would have to press. Sigh.
