Two design flaws affect usability

So I bought two of these about 2 months apart. The first set was for a friend who cooks occasionally. He said it was good so I bought this one when my old one broke. I see my thermometer a little more critically. As soon as I started complaining, my friend added a few other complaints about it. So first let me tell you what I like about him. I think it's great that I can set it to the type of meat and it knows the desired temperature. This saves me from having to ask Siri or Alexa what temperature I should cook something at. I also like that the measurement is wireless, so I can see the temperature anywhere. My old one had a pager, but once it was outside on the grill I didn't know how long I had set the temp inside to start cooking the sides. The two main things I don't like about it are the size of the probe and the power buttons. The length/shape of the probe is fine if you're cooking a large roast, but most dishes I cook combine to cook through 1. For example, I had a 2 pound slow cooker pork loin that was about 4 x 5 x 2.5 inches. ". With my old thermometer, I was able to insert the probe in the center. With this, it was not possible to adjust the tip of the probe so that it was in the center while the lid could still be used. I had a similar problem when cooking chicken breast and the probe had no contact with. I ended up removing the sensor and using it as an instant thermometer which defeats the purpose. Another thing is there are two switches to turn one off but there aren't any Indicator on the base that it's on when the receiver is off, so I often forget to turn it off and drain the batteries for minutes. Or place the switch on the front where its status can be easily seen. d.Als When I mentioned these complaints to a friend, he also mentioned dissatisfaction with the number of cables and the setup process, my old one only had one probe (and I liked the idea of having btw ei to have probes with this one), but o There was only one part for receiving signals and reading the output, so everything was stored as one unit in fully assembled form. He has at least 3 pieces to keep track of and eventually 5. They store neatly in the box if you can handle the cables, but there's a lot more to it than he lets on in everyday life. . the basis. I'm assuming it's only used to cook roast or chicken, so maybe every two years.
