A duvet alternative is what you need.
The duvet is just the right size for my duvet cover. I usually get a bit cold, especially in the winter (Alaska winter is harsh, but probably not as cold as the Midwest). It's not heavy, fluffy enough and keeps you warm. My duvet was initially great, but the fluff has shifted so it's quite thin on one end. My new alternate duvet has stayed consistent and shows no signs of shifting. I bought it last December and it has been in my bed ever since. I really like it and I'm glad I bought it. The price was reasonable.
