Luckily I have access to someone who can make this piece out of metal, so it should be a bit stronger in that area. If Topeka wants to keep making it out of molded plastic, they'll have to come up with something more permanent. The thickness in this area is only 1.75-2 mm. I'm not sure what type of plastic they use (HDPE I guess) but my experience is that this material is not good enough for this type of plastic. I don't understand why they don't have two screw terminals like they have on one side. Of course, this can make installation more difficult, but who regularly dismantles the fender? I take the installation level delicacy if that means using the safe part.
