Incredibly fast and quiet!

The thing is an absolute ANIMAL. I say this with great authority because I'm often unfazed by external hard drives. But with a 2015 MacBook Pro connected via a USB cable, this is a seriously serious drive. It is absolutely silent and you can only tell that it is working by the very bright green LED. I edited almost an hour of video with this kid, and the Mac running Final Cut Pro X buzzed like nothing happened. There was absolutely no lag when watching videos or playing 1080 HD videos at 60 fps. Editing images in Adobe Lightroom CC has never been easier! Download and upload speeds have been very good so far (over 400MB/s each way over USB I'd say). Be aware: the Mac I'm using has Thunderbolt 2 ports, and this thing is Thunderbolt 3 compatible (it's a COMPLETELY different connection!), so I can't use the Thunderbolt 2 ports with this drive. (A decision has yet to be made, though, as I'm curious to see if I can find a connection that will allow me to plug this baby into my Thunderbolt 2 ports.) However, if it's plugged into a USB 3 port (which btw comes with Thunderbolt 3 / USB-C and USB 3.0 cables), this little one works fine, no issues. As a result, I now use it for all my corporate work, as well as image and video editing, as it's the fastest drive I've had to date. This drive is the pinnacle of what external hard drives should be. So if you're willing to "invest" in this baby, you should definitely do it!
