When you need a quick fix at short notice. Yes, it's not bad, but if you want to use something long-term and stable. That will quickly become obsolete. Don't get me wrong, it works and works well when it works, but if you dock it and expect it to be used normally (dock login and monitor display response instantaneous) it fails miserably. At first, I didn't mind opening the lid of my laptop to log in after docking a few times here and there. but always do? It's just not practical and it's a big disappointment. The purpose of using it with a dock is to be for easy access and ease of use with little or no disruption to your workflow, rather than putting in extra effort to "speed" it up to do what it's supposed to do. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers multiple times but to no avail. So just annoying and frustrating.
