Over the years I've always wondered why anyone would buy reusable wall outlets that can't be screwed into an outlet. Because when you pull the plug, everything comes out. That's not the case with EchoGear as they have a screw, and better yet you don't have to remove the jack cover, you can leave it in place. Simply use the supplied screw and never remove this plug from the socket. Two USB ports used for charging and they are fine. Sockets are good too, as you can feel comfortable plugging in and unplugging. Plugs don't just fall out. The small LED at the top emits a green light, which is great for areas where you need to see in the dark, but it's impossible to turn off, just like in your bedroom. You'll see that green glow in the room. But it's great for corridors to see the area in the dark. Well, as a surge protector, I'd say go for something more commercial with specs that don't store anything you plug into it. If you have a whole house surge protector you are covered, but to rely solely on this article, just be prepared for new electronics or whatever you have hooked up. Based on the specs I would say this item is for light use only. For locations prone to lightning strikes, it doesn't matter. All in all it's a good exit and the green light is really good. It's thin so it doesn't stick out too much from the wall. I think it sticks out about an inch so it's really pretty. My phone is plugged into the outlet to charge, but I don't mind getting fried as the job calls for it. I don't usually leave things plugged in, but it's nice to have an extra outlet and two USBs for charging.
