My pencil sharpener sharpens pencils perfectly. However, there are a few things that hold it back from being a great product. There are burrs on the collet that holds the pencil. This burr bites into the pencil when sharpened, leaving an ugly scratch that goes through the ink on the pencil. I was able to file the ridge and improve it a bit. The chip collection box was bent and had to be straightened. The rim of the box should have a rough edge so you can sharpen the lead further. The edge is so smooth that it doesn't do anything. You will need sandpaper to finish the pencil. Finally, the rubber material used for the base leaves a black mark on the countertop. A cleaner such as Simple Green is required to remove. But did I mention this thing will sharpen perfectly! With a little more attention to detail, this can make a great sharpener.
