It took 5 days for delivery via Fedex Ground, no problem for us. It was very compressed and rolled up tight in the box and took longer than we expected to inflate. It reached a claimed depth of 1.5 inches. The smell was not overpowering and completely disappeared after a few hours. Fits perfectly with our double bed. The material has an elastic consistency when you reach into it or lie on it. It's sort of the opposite of the traditional feel of memory foam, which is firm at first and then softens over time - gel memory foam feels soft at first and then gets firmer over time. the top of our memory foam mattress with green tea. Unfortunately it's not ultra plush, it's firmer than we'd hoped, but it's certainly not as firm as the mattress topper itself and that's an improvement. We put our old pillowcase on top of this topper, now we're getting closer to the ultra plush feel we wanted. Not the softest gel memory foam we've ever felt, but it's really comfortable and worth the bargain price if you don't mind. In our setup with a pillowcase, it doesn't get hot, but it doesn't get cold either. Since it wasn't our priority anyway, it was good for us and we will keep it.
