Won't stay in place and edges started to crumble

EDIT: I found out what type of foil was on the dash. The edge of this umbrella began to unravel. It was only a month later. (pictured) The painting on this thing is beautiful, but when I go to my car it keeps sliding off and sitting on top of the dash (as shown in the picture) and doesn't retain heat. There are also tiny bits of silver plating that are coming off leaving a strange film on the top of the dashboard (pictured). It was said it would fit my Honda Accord but it doesn't. Too small. Unfortunately I started using it too late to find out and now it's too late to bring it back.
