Review on 🍌 Optimized Banana Slicer by Andrea Beavers

Dangerous scrap is best in graters, peelers and slicers

I don't know what I was expecting, but this flimsy thing turned out not to be. Every time you press it all the way, it gets stuck. Eventually I found that if you bang it on the counter it comes off pretty easily, but I'm not sure the blades or my counter can handle it. I bought this for my 6 year old to slice hot dogs, when he tried it the first time he couldn't slice it, I tried but had to press so hard my hand slipped off when I finally got it got, and cut his finger on the back of the side of the blades, which weren't supposed to be sharp anyway. I use the term "blades" loosely, they're just cheap thin pieces of aluminum. I didn't even let my son wash because I was afraid he would cut himself. It cuts through a banana well, but don't expect anything harder than that. It wouldn't cut a hot dog, I suppose it will bend and break if I try to cut a skinned cucumber.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
