I took the time to find one that fits my needs. This grinder is just what I needed. very satisfied.1. Gently tap the top when using. A light touch is enough to crush nuts. Press and hold for powder. Can always be used to chop or pulverize dehydrated vegetables. I only need a small amount at a time so it works great for me. If you're making a batch larger than two people, you'll need a grinder with a larger hopper. 2. It comes with a scraper/brush. The scraper is great for extracting chopped food. The brush did a great job removing every bit of powder. 3. To clean, I added a drop of dish soap and then cleaned and rinsed with a kitchen sink sprayer. The sprayer cleans perfectly without having to put your fingers on the blades. All the reviews I've read have said the blades are very sharp so I do whatever is necessary to keep my fingers off the jar. A scraper can often be found in the cosmetics section of any grocery store as it is used to scrape small jars. I didn't find the engine noise loud at all. The biggest noise comes from use with food, and it doesn't last long.
