A few days ago my wife bought one of these massagers from another brand. I tried it and I liked it so I thought I'd get one. After reading many reviews it turned out that they are all made the same so I bought Papillon because it was the cheapest I could find. Just for reference, my wife had it for more than double the price of this one. Now that we have two, it's easy to make some comparisons. The controls, design, button layout and massage action are identical. Papillon has an outer shell made of pleasantly soft fabric. The other is heavy vinyl. I like the fabric better, but she's happy with hers and has no intention of returning it. The massage effect is sometimes a bit aggressive for me, so I considered using a towel or blanket as a base. But the manufacturer doesn't recommend this due to the heat build-up, which makes sense. The heater turns on immediately after starting, so if you don't want heat you have to turn it off. It's a bit painful and I wish the heat start was optional. All of the massaging action takes place right in the middle of the neck, and sometimes it can pinch you if you press on it too hard. The instructions say it can be carried on the shoulders or on the back, but it's a little tricky to do in my opinion. It's not just there and you have to work with it. These massagers are a big hit around the house right now, but I'm hoping they won't just be sitting around in the corner in a few months. gather dust The bottom line is that you don't need to feel like you have to spend a lot of money on any of these to try and get the best. They are all the same and this papillon suits me well for the price. Now I'm not sure if it will be useful in the long run, but I still give it five stars because it looks good, works well, does what it's supposed to do, and is priced right.
