I'm sorry this device has a very big problem that makes it unusable because its presentation, initial setup and UI/UX are awesome! Without bandwidth, however, this is completely useless. I read the review but thought hey, I'm no longer stuck in traffic and have some more time to play around with this stuff. I think in most cases the reviews giving those 4 or 5 stars are because people are not techies and can't identify the router as a problem. Although maybe they got lucky in some cases and it works 100%. I've been in technology for 25 years and have led technical customer service teams. I am connected to 25ft ethernet and have 1GB uplink and 15GB uplink. BIG issues: Speed tests with this ASUS router2) As an access point, it had absolutely ZERO throughput. I couldn't even ping my gateway even though the router got an IP address and assigned it to my PC. 3) Both Ethernet and WiFi were regularly disconnected at 15-30 minute intervals. Each outage lasted 5 to 10 minutes. As a gamer, #1 is higher or enough to turn my stomach. Not that another nail is needed in this coffin, but my ping time in Valorant went from 10-25 to 60+. Several times even 700 pings were exceeded. It has to be a gaming router, right? Don't tell me how uncomfortable these interruptions in customer conversations are! The video freezes, the sound keeps cutting out. Do you know how bad you look when you have to keep asking the CIO of a Fortune 500 company to repeat themselves? After lots of testing, I reconnected my 3 year old Linksys router and restored my connection speed and stability. Of course you can tell me I have a lemon, but I respectfully disagree. I've tried making this change with other routers in the past, but always go back to Linksys. Problems are always associated with loss of bandwidth and regular disconnections. So if you're looking for a good looking device that's easy to set up and gives your kids a great light show, this is the device for you. If you're serious about getting the most out of your home network and internet connection, I think you need a veteran device like the Linksys. Love you ASUS! Your mobo and graphics cards should be dead, but your routers need help.
