I bought two, one for pepper and one for other spices. Mills disassemble easily enough for installing batteries. The spice container is a bit fiddly to load because the spout reduces the opening, but with care it can be filled without spilling. I found that assembly is not that easy. The battery compartment may interfere with the fit of the attachment and the locking mechanism. A little patience helps. The coarse to fine setting is on the bottom and works, but I found the fine setting to be more suitable for my purposes. I bought an electronic coffee grinder to grind large batches of rubs and marinades, some of which require several tablespoons, so battery life is an issue. I don't know how long the four AA batteries will last as the product is new so I've given it four stars for now and will come back and upgrade to five stars if they last. One note: when the grinder is running, the motor often stalls while grinding peppers, making you think it's about to stall, but it keeps running. I ground up to five tablespoons of pepper at a time in just a few minutes. So far, Artesio is a bargain for the money.
