Review on ๐Ÿšฝ Toilet Hinge Replacement in White Plastic by Jack Robi

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Buy this / not so new toilet seat

Replacing broken plastic hinges on a Kohler brand toilet seat. The toilet seat is in perfect condition, it is only 5 years old. The plastic hinge broke and the toilet seat hinges are hard to find. Arrived just in time for our guest bathroom as an out of town friend is coming soon. NOTE: There are four screws for the COVER and four screws for the seat. They are packed separately in small plastic bags labeled LID and RING. The ring is the part you sit on. I've never heard it called RING, but it makes sense. Do not attempt to assemble the toilet yourself as the screw may pop out and fall into the toilet. I covered the toilet with a bath towel and attached screws to catch anything I'm sure I dropped. The wood of the toilet seat is solid and the pilot hole helps. The instructions say to fill the old screw holes with wood glue, which I did, and then I had to poke a new pilot hole through the glue, but it came out nice and tight. Check the tightness of the screws after a few days after various people have tested your new and improved toilet seat hinge installation. Much cheaper than buying a whole toilet seat just because the hinge broke.
