These are gorgeous shoes (I bought the navy pair), but even with the optional heel and ball of foot pads that come with the shoes, I had to add extra gel pads and heel pads to keep my feet from slipping in them. This pair seemed like it was a half size bigger than the 8 that I usually wear. I needed a heel high enough for a long dress that I was wearing in my son's wedding (the dress couldn't be hemmed), so I braced myself for some discomfort, but because these shoes are so stiff, it was super painful walking in them. If you don't have to wear them for long periods, they might work for you, but even after wearing them around the house before the event to "break them in", they were the cruelest shoes I've ever worn. Beautiful, but I won't ever wear them again.
