I bought this activity tracker for my wife as she loves to keep track of her workouts and activities. I've previously bought a Fitbit Charge HR, Samsung Gear Fit2, Polar Loop, and a few others that I don't remember buying, but they've all failed in one way or another. Garmin isn't perfect, and in my experience with these devices, none of them are perfect, but this one has some advantages. Garmin automatically syncs data to your smartphone, unlike Samsung or Fitbit which required you to sync manually. The Garmin charges quickly and easily, unlike the Samsung which had charging issues. The Fitbit had no trouble charging, but the battery was also much smaller. The menus are fairly easy to navigate and the touchscreen is responsive. A number of different training and activity options are available, e.g. B. Indoor and outdoor running, which allows you to track the difference when running on a treadmill or on the open road. The only downside I've found with the Garmin is that the screen inside is dark even at the highest brightness setting. Apparently this is a known Garmin issue or was designed to conserve battery power. Not sure if that's the case, but the screen is noticeably dimmer than the Samsung screen indoors. Outside it's not that big of a problem. My wife said the Garmin looks like a "manly" watch and I have to agree that it's bigger than a Fitbit or Samsung. Nowadays, many people wear smartwatches, so a woman with a larger watch doesn't look weird anymore. I'd say it's no more than an Apple Watch or similar device. The Garmin is said to be waterproof, which hasn't been tested and she hasn't used it long enough to say how durable it is, but so far it seems to be holding up well for its intended use. The Garmin heart rate monitor is accurate and on par with a blood pressure cuff when I tested it. Garmin sits in the mid-range price range for similarly styled devices, and it also offers notifications like text messages and Facebook posts. Recently my wife had an iPhone 6 and Garmin nearby and Garmin texted her in front of her phone. In general, she is satisfied with the device compared to the previous ones she has tried. I can recommend this watch from Garmin.
