I have a habit of chopping garlic, but some recipes require finer cuts. This crusher gets the job done. It's also great if you have a few small cloves of garlic in a garlic bowl. You can stuff a bunch of little ones into this grinder instead of throwing them away or struggling to grind them up. This is a great idea for storing stockings or a Christmas present as it comes in a cute box with a pouch and tassel. I use a paring knife to remove crushed garlic from the grinder, but a brush works well to pick up the garlic left in the basket. Very good construction and removable inner bowl so you can fill it with garlic and then put it in the grinder instead of trying to hold the grinder while filling or emptying. I cook a lot and buy a lot of kitchen utensils. I highly recommend it.
