Review on πŸͺ‘ Sihoo Ergonomic Office Chair - Comfortable High Back Desk Chair with Lumbar Support, 3D Armrest, Adjustable Height, Thick Seat Cushion, and Breathable Mesh (Red) by Amanda Spencer

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Would only recommend for a person under 5'6 and 160 lbs. NOBODY ELSE

I love doing reviews and now that I'm working from home I wanted to check out a new chair. I came across this ergonomic office chair from SIHOO and wanted to try it out. I have a super nice chair in one of my offices and wanted to put it downstairs in the office to see how comfortable it is and how comfortable it is. I've had it for a week and here are some of my thoughts on my experience with it. Pros: 1. The chair looks very nice. I'm 6ft 1in tall so wanted to make sure I had a chair high enough for my head to rest comfortably on the headrest. It does exactly that.2. I liked that the back of the chair raises or lowers depending on your height. If you're shorter you'll need to lower it, and if you're taller than me you'll definitely need to raise it all the way up. With your hands on the armrest you can move the armrest forward or back, I left it up or pushed it down. Cons: 1. The chair is not that easy to assemble. The instructions are useless. For example, it comes with a plastic bag containing 3 sets of screws, with the screws in three unlabeled sections. If you look at the assembly instructions, it says to use an M6 bolt, M8 bolt, or M20 bolt (don't keep me on the exact bolt number/name). Because there are no labels on the screw pack, you don't know which screws go where. It was too confusing. You're trying to get the screws in and then you have to take everything apart and then swap out the screws to make sure they're all in the right holes. It was very frustrating. What should have taken 10 minutes ended up taking about 45 minutes. The instructions have an image with multiple lines pointing to different sections. What's confusing is that the lines overlap so you don't know which line goes where. Whoever is responsible for this in the company should definitely update the instructions and mark which screws are which.2. The headrest is super thin. It's so thin I thought it would break if I tilted my head back far enough. The head piece that slides into the chair should have been thicker. The best way to explain how weak it is is when you move it with your finger and it shakes like a bobblehead.3. If you are a tall person, this chair may not suit you. I say that because I'm 6ft 1in tall and when I sit in the chair the seat cushion comes down to mid-thigh. This made sitting uncomfortable and I even included a picture to show what I'm talking about. If you are a short person then this chair is perfect for you. After sitting in the chair for a day or two, I disassembled the bottom and tried to push the chair forward as much as possible, but it didn't work because it only moved forward, maybe an inch. The lumbar area on the backrest of the chair is not adjustable. For this chair to cost over $300, the chair's lumbar or backrest had to be adjustable to some degree. I felt very closed off when I sat in a chair. This chair is not wide at all. So if you are a tall person, you will not be comfortable in this chair. I'm 6ft 1in and 190lbs and I definitely have to keep my hands on the table to be comfortable in his chair. Overall I give it a 2.5** rating. Assembling the chair was a nightmare. It took both of us 45 minutes to put it together. The instructions definitely need improvement. The comfort of the chair is not designed for a larger or taller person. The seat should be able to slide out further, or at least have an adjustable bracket on the bottom of the seat so you can slide it out, but it doesn't. I would only recommend this chair if you are under 5ft 6in and weigh no more than 160lbs.
