There are a few things I would like to highlight about this putting mat. First of all, this is the rug itself. I installed this in my basement on an indoor rug and the rug "walks". It's always wavy and I have to constantly bend down to pull it. It would be better if they cover the back with rubber so it stays flat and the balls roll properly. Second, the platform has an edge when the ball hits it. Due to the wavy nature of the mat, sometimes the ball just hits and you have to pull the mat to lift it off the ground to avoid that hit. annoys. The platform itself is also improperly shaped. The balls are held in the upper guide and do not roll down. Now they send a metal pad which is useless if you can control your punches. This is probably for people who have kids and don't want their wall getting scratched. (I'm guessing) I really think the new shape with a more beveled edge up front, steeper ball return angles not only at the back but also with an internal channel and rubber underlay for the grass material will make this product a winner. I bought it as a Black Friday deal so I saved some money. To pay the regular price I would probably imagine returning it. I give the manufacturer a quick call, make the changes I suggested, and skip the extra cost of stop plate screws and a screwdriver.
