With ASMedia chip, USB 3.0 interface and cloning, everything works!

ASMedia chip gives me 5*. The main overview is in the next paragraph, followed by some instructions and subtleties. I've owned it for 5 months now and have used it a lot. Perfect performance with sufficient speed. I've used it for backups and offline cloning. The documentation isn't outstanding, but it's okay. Durable Feel; The power and USB cables appear to be firmly seated in their sockets, but don't kick them! The ASMedia chip has a good reputation, so I think further work will go smoothly. I'm using two 2TB corporate hard drives, which tend to get a bit warmer than consumer hard drives. Using crystaldiskinfo and crystaldiskmark In a room around 20 degrees Celsius, I see temperatures below 32 degrees Celsius during the most intensive long-term use and performance tests. The sequential read/write speeds of an incredibly fast NVME SSD equipped computer are around 190 and 400 MB/s via USB 3.0. Disk to disk cloning is faster. I love it! NEVER INSERT OR REMOVE A HARD DRIVE INTO THIS DOCKING STATION WHILE ANOTHER HARD DRIVE IS INSTALLED (via this Docking Station) ON YOUR COMPUTER. Friendly guide warns against it. TO USE AS A HARD DISK CLONER: DO NOT CONNECT THE USB CABLE! 1: Connect power to wall and dock and make sure the switch is off. 2 Insert BOTH drives and make sure you don't need any data on the destination drive. 3: Turn on the dock. 4: Press the not-so-accessible button on the back marker for three seconds to start and release, 5: Short press the same button and the tiny blue LED at the bottom front of the device (maybe a bit hard to see) will flash under "25 %". This LED will be on and the next will blink (less than 50%) as the cloning process progresses. When the 100% indicator lights up, turn off the switch and remove the discs. CONNECTED TO A COMPUTER FOR USE (e.g. for backup or file transfer): 1: Plug the power cord into the power outlet and docking station and make sure the switch is off. 2: Connect the USB cable to the host computer and the docking station. 3: Connect the drive(s) to the slot(s). 4: Turn on the docking station. On Windows 7, I typed the drive in the computer's search box (magnifying glass in the taskbar), found an app to partition a new drive, and used that app to initialize. The name of the disc manufacturer is automatically assigned. To disconnect: 1. Use the Safely Remove Hardware button on the taskbar. 2nd: When you get OK to remove the notification, turn off the switch. 3rd: Remove the discs. 4th: Turn off the power and USB. BTW, in order to use the Safely Remove Hardware button on the taskbar, I had to go to My Computer, right-click the drive, select Properties, then Policies and Optimize the particular drive for performance, not uninstall. In the default setup (optimized for deletion), the disable button in the taskbar did not work; When I tried it always said the disk was in use.
