Installation instructions via the Google Home app are extremely inadequate. For example, the meaning of different colored lights and different light pulse rates is important, but won't be explained until you go down the rabbit hole of blog-like support sites. To make matters worse, you have to dig through support blogs to find out how and when to connect Wi-Fi points (via Ethernet), and even then you get conflicting information. If you want to connect some devices (desktops, TVs) to the Internet via Ethernet, you'll need a switch, but instructions on how to add one are very hard to come by. And Google Home, the recommended installer app, thinks you have a Google NEST WiFi system, not Google WiFi. The GOOGLE WiFi app is the best choice, but it is not recommended to use it. After four very frustrating hours, I delved into the support blog thread and found a way to get a call back from Google. A smart young woman called me a minute later and an hour later we were all running. Now that it's installed, it works fine, not great. According to SpeedTest, the download speed is 10-15% of the download speed. All in all I wish I had called the tech to install another system.
