I've been using this cooker for two months now and I really like it (we're renovating and don't have access to the hob). I even bought a second one, I was so impressed with its performance (and now I can cook all my food in one go!). The temperature controller actually controls the temperature (!), cycling on and off to keep it where you set it. I've used it for everything from searing and searing to caramelizing onions and cooking for an hour to make broth. I've used copper-core, stainless steel, non-stick, and 10- to 14-inch-bottomed pans with no problems. I'm almost tempted to ditch the new cooktop and stick with these! I recommend them to all types of cooks, including serious cooks. I'm not a fan of cooking with electricity, but I use it when I have to.
