Review on 🌡️ Inkbird Smart Thermometer and Hygrometer Monitor with Temperature Probe, Digital Display, and Free iOS and Android App - IBS-TH2 Plus Version for Indoor Temperature and Humidity Monitoring by Gabriel Tomato

I bought this to add a second data source to check my fermentation chamber (I brew open fermentation mead and follow TOSNA protocol, which must be carefully managed temperature and humidity among other factors). The included probe (temperature reading only!) is more than long enough for this unit to sit comfortably outside of the chamber and read data from the display - it is very accurate and reads data almost exactly like my other temperature sensors. Unfortunately, the sensor does not measure humidity (only the base unit perceives this data). In other words, the base unit must be in a controlled environment to measure humidity. that's for sure, but the display is blank in this scenario. You can only get readings by either 1. opening the chamber (disabling temperature and humidity control and exposing the fermenting wort) or 2. connecting to the device via Bluetooth and letting the connection loop, which will download the entire dataset (3 + minutes). . This design flaw limits its usefulness to me, but may not matter to others. Because of that limitation, I gave it four stars (compared to the five it would get if the sensor were measuring humidity).
