Super cloning without PC.

A great addition to your tech gear. Time saver, very economical, easy and at $35 worth every penny. No PC or software required, just insert the source and destination disks into the marked slots, turn on the device and press START. A hardware sector-by-sector clone is created from the original hard drive. The four flashing purple lights at the top indicate the percentage of completion. When finished, the device will beep and all indicators will turn blue and stay on. Light! The power button, selector switch, power button, USB 3 port, and power connector are located on the back of the device. There is a switch to select clone or PC in case you want to use the included USB 3.0 cable. I probably won't, but it's a nice perk. The 110V power supply supplies the device with 12V/4000mA. 12V means possible use with a standalone battery or from a car if you need that power path. Without tethering any of my PCs, I can clone, set up and forget all day. Large disk cloning takes longer. The 500GB drive took over an hour. I have cloned 5 drives of different sizes, from 160GB to 1TB, XP, Win 7 and Win 8 drives and they are all perfect. Sorry, no Linux yet. Bonus if you've ever cloned your new drive and tried to boot it only to find the boot sector/partition was formatted incorrectly, just like Ghost or some other cloning software packages. Please note that you must have a target disk of the same size or larger. And yes, if you insert a larger drive than the source drive, only the smaller source partition will be cloned to the larger destination drive. You need to extend partition with programmatic method to get full disk size. This is easy if you google the method online. Discs of different brands? Yes, I have successfully cloned different models/brands of destination and source drives of the same size and larger. If the target drive is smaller, the cloning will not proceed when you press the start button and the device will beep. I also keep it connected to a UPS backup battery in the event of a power outage, and I highly recommend others do the same. NO CONS YET: There are no cons for this device yet! I found it better rated and with higher specs than other more expensive devices. I will only be using it to see how long it lasts and that will be the ultimate test. Tested for 2 months and I highly recommend it to others to clone perfect disk every time. Definitely a time saver.
