The dipstick was a little longer (1.25”) than the original. It fit fine and didn’t bottom out but the low to full marks were also at the wrong depth. If I didn’t notice this and I tossed the old dip stick away first, I would always be at a lower level than what is needed and probably compromise the life of my already old engine. Luckily I caught the mistake and remarked the dipstick where it needed to be marked. This could have been bad, and I would have returned it but I needed the part to seal the oil compartment.
