If you want to add some protection and grip to your Garmin inReach Explorer+, you will love this product. Cover as "case" in my opinion. "Case" means a higher level of protection, such as a hard case design offers, and I would expect more protection from a hard case. Again, if I were worried about damaging the device, I would keep it in my bag or some other safe place. As a cover, this fits well and offers full access to all controls and ports. The fit is snug, but the lid is easy to remove in a matter of seconds, which can be important for those who use the stand mount frequently. I can attach and remove the cover with the Garmin carabiner installed. Some older reviews complain of fitment issues, but that's not an issue with the case I received. Perhaps the cover has been redesigned, or some reviewers have attempted to use this cover on an older Delorme inReach model. :shrug:I use a RAM mount in my truck and the cover can stay on the device when inserted into this type of mount. The lid improves the grip of the device, and the included screen protectors should do a good job of protecting the screen from light scratches. The influence of the screen protector on the visibility of the screen is negligible. My only gripe is that the lid is definitely more red than the orange body of the device. I know the color listed in the product description is red so that wasn't a surprise. It's minor enough that it doesn't affect my overall rating, but it's a small area for improvement.
