Surprised when I opened the package and found a wooden crate; However, when I opened it up, I found dangling bits dangling inside, as well as bits of light yellow paint that had detached from poorly prepared metal surfaces. I couldn't find any chips or cracks in the carbide, so I proceeded with the project. The wings I'm working on are standard 1 3/8" thick with a 1/2" dowel on the back for glazing, 7/16. "Flat in the center and 7/16" on the front with a shoulder and 3/32" on the front. The bits fit these parts, but required more washers than what was provided to accommodate the protruding bit assemble to move the cutter. The threads on the rod were just enough for the nut when installed into these parts but without the washer underneath.a bit desperate, remove the spacers from another set of bits and the bit up having to extend to the limit to get a standard thickness sash that looks ok. Combined with the crappy packaging it was a little discouraging. But the price is exceptional and if you're just making a few windows for yourself, this is a good buy.
