Installation: I have a Macbook Pro, a VGA monitor and a USB-C to VGA adapter. This is a known operational installation using a different brand of adapter. Problem: While my MBP recognized that an external monitor was connected, no image was displayed on this monitor. What I tried: I replaced the first adapter thinking the problem was that it was defective. However, the second one I got had the exact same problem. I contacted the company and was told to set my MBP display to less than 1080p (not a viable solution for the long term, but I tried) and restart the computer. This still didn't result in the computer being able to display an image on my external monitor. I tried the same with a completely different VGA monitor with the same result. The only conclusion is that this product is not really compatible with my MacBook Pro. (Product Description Contradiction) This is totally unrelated to the fact that the company's solution doesn't work to extend my desktop, which is why I need this product in the first place.
