I installed this on my truck first and hoped it would last forever as I always have a receiver. I usually leave the 2" bullet, but recently I had to swap out the receiver for a smaller one, so I had to remove that receiver lock. It has been fitted for 1.5 years and has always had a protective rubber cover covering the lock. When I first removed the receiver's rubber cover I was happy to see that the lock wasn't rusty and the key went in smoothly, but the locking mechanism didn't move and with little to no pressure the key broke in the lock and held it for useless The next step was to get the key. a hacksaw that cuts through the bar with ease. In less than 5 minutes I cut the lock in 2 pieces and threw them in the trash. I learned from this that I will no longer buy master brand locks that are left out.
