If I remove the extra pouch (Velcro) I can carry my Sony Alpha A7iii with the 100-400mm lens along with an extra lens and mount binoculars. The front pocket holds an iPad mini in its dedicated slot. If I'm not putting anything else in my front pocket, an iPad 11 pro fits in. It fits well but I can zip it up and take it on the plane. See 3 attached photos. I stuffed my bag with everything, including the iPad Pro, and measured it out. In the prone position it is 16 inches. Length x 8.5 inches wide x just under 8 inches high I checked Southwest and American Airlines and it would be considered a personal item and would fit under the seat.
