Great for light multi-console gaming

Great product. Provides automatic switching between multiple devices. Just to give you an idea, we hooked it up to a VCR, a Nintendo Gamecube, and an original Sega (yes, the original 1985 Sega Master system). Everything except the Sega plugs into the A/V switch, and then you have a set of A/V cables that go to your TV. We also have a Sega Master system that connects to the TV via a cable input connector and RF output. It wasn't really that difficult to set up, but I would recommend having some experience hooking up TV/entertainment cables. It doesn't have HD ports, but works great with additional devices. The main benefit of this device is that it automatically switches devices. Let's say you had a VCR in spot 2 and a gamecube in spot 3. If both were on at the same time, spot 2 would be prioritized over spot 3. It's great not having to worry about another remote control around the house, and that's good. What we need to do is turn on the device we want and switch the TV to the A/V input. Very convenient. The only downside I have with this product is the quality of the stand. We mounted ours horizontally and there are tiny grooves on the bottom of the unit, into which the black curved stand can snap (you can see the long horizontal grooves in the standard image for this product). It's pretty cheap plastic that falls off about once a month. if the device is moved frequently. However, this allows you to increase circulation, which is handy. Playing my old Sega on this device, I was pleased with the lack of video lag. We've used it regularly for our VCR and Gamecube with similar results. Another practical feature: the A/V sockets on the front. If someone wants to show something on the digital camera they brought with them, all they have to do is plug it in and we'll change the channel. Very handy instead of having to go behind the TV to potentially cause cable problems. All in all a great product! I'm working on recommending this to my people so I don't have to keep switching cables to show them pictures. ;-) Links: Oh, and if you want to take a closer look at the cable connections on this set, I'd recommend reading the manual: [.] All you have to do is plug it in and we'll change the TV channel.
