Nice grain and smooth surface.
The scales were of good thickness, which allowed the use of different types of knife shells. When I first worked with Ironwood, it's a little different than most woods I've used before. It is beautifully cut and polished and shines like stone or metal. The knife in the picture is only processed with wax paste. It has such a high oil content that it does not need to be coated with polyurethane, tung or linseed oil. I'm very happy with how it turned out
